Impressionism - Paint this Autumn painting in oil or acrylic

Hi Joel, thanks so much for taking my course and submitting your work. This came out beautifully! Great value range of lights to darks, nice juicy brush strokes that you let stand on their own, and great color gradation outward from the light source.I'd say maybe you could soften the edge of the line just below the distant mountains, that hard edge brings them much closer, and making the edge softer would push them a little further away (the bottoms of mountains tend to be a soft, misty edge anyway). And the shadows under the tree seem to stop at the top in a straight horizontal line, you could vary those shapes a bit. Great painting, and thank you for posting!

This was the 2nd one I did and I used the photo.   I do think it was a little better.  I would really love to do a scene inspired by Leonid Afremov.  I don't know much about him as an artist, and how he is seen in the art community, but I love the way he uses the night time, with street lights and rain.
