Transition Sweater

Hello!

1. What problem do you want to solve?

I'm interested in  creating a seasonally transitional piece that's also good for biking.  I have quite a few dresses very much constructed for wear during the summer, which is great but I also really like to layer them throughout the rest of the year.  Here comes my second problem...I bike most places I go and as much as I love layering on cardigans when I bike around they flap open in the wind and I feel like a flying nun.  Also, related to biking, any shirts I wear I prefer to be a bit longer in the back as I'm leaning over much of the time.

2. How are you going to solve it?

The basic design would be a high-low sweater/sweatshirt hem that rises in the front to reveal the waist of a piece layered underneath (like a dress) but longer in the back for biking needs.  I drew an initial idea a while ago and then recently hacked up a basic sweatshirt and quickly drafted a collar.  The details could be varied, such as adding elbow patches, collars, pockets, etc.

3. How is it different from what's already on the market?

There may very well be items which look similar, though I think specifiying it's uses as a layering piece as well as it's biking-specific use makes it unique.   The intent is that it's a piece that could be worn normally throughout the day, or removed when it's warmer.

4. Who is your demographic?

Women 16-40 ish, young creative professionals, who also like to take a spin on a bike.

5. How much would you pay for it?

I think the price point would be around $40-60 or so.
