Three Corner Lake

For my first time photographing the night sky I took this class before going camping, as I had planned on taking photos while there.  We had no internet or cell phone reception and there wasn't a whole lot of light polution to worry about.

After many trial and error shots spent on composing the photo and getting everything in focus this is my favourite photo of the night.

ISO 1600 - f/3.5 - 30 seconds

I used a 2 second timer in order to prevent any initial camera shake from me pressing the button as well as the built in noise reduction feature.  It was a bit time consuming having to wait for the extra time that the lens is closed so I only used it once I had an idea of my final composition.  I also used my headlamp to illuminate the tree and experimented with different angles and time spent shining the light which yeiled a variety of results.
