Thirsty Blobs

Hello Everyone,

I just want to start by saying that this class was fun and interesting, great for anyone who is getting into art or wants to learn a new skill/style.

I started this course not being able to produce quality doodle drawings but by the end had lots of ideas but just not enough time. After completing exercises 1, 2 and 3 I came up with a sketch that I was happy to take to the next level and digitally edit it. Here is the version before I scanned it in.

I then scanned it in and uploaded it onto Adobe illustrator. I then traced it and made sure everything looked good and ready to colour. Then it became colourful!

I was really surprised by the end result. Though I didn’t really want it to be my final print so I took my favourite parts, which were the thirsty blobs, and created my final print. I first sketched it then scanned it in and traced it to make sure it looked good. The uncoloured copy is below.

I then coloured it in in a couple of different ways before deciding on the final colours.

After playing around with all the different colours I made my decision and completed my final copy. I wanted to used all different colours so that each blob looked different and unique.

After completing and saving my final copy I exported my design. I wanted to make it real and made the decision to get it digitally printed. I decided I wanted the thirsty blobs on a mug because it just made sense to me. I was really impressed with the end result and will use this mug every morning for the rest of my life!

I hoped you guys enjoyed my project and have been inspired to do it yourself.

I also want to give a big thanks to Jon Burgerman for being a great teacher.
