The not so easy scavenger hunt

The not so easy scavenger hunt - student project

I´m enjoying this discovery but I have to say that is being a struggle for me. I tend to think I like everything and narrow it down is just hard.

COLOR

I looked at some old boards and found lots of colors. Pastel and bright.

The problem is...

I also found a ton of black and white.

I kept scrolling Pinterest and saw Alisa Burke´s work. I have been following her work even before I got back to drawing and didn´t know why I liked it so much till today.

So I just found out that I like splashes of color or just small accents that don´t´t take away the black and white overall.

LINES

That one was way easier for me. I use lines in most of my work and find difficult to work without them. Working with colors is a bit tricky for me and I believe that lines take away a bit of the color choice responsibility. Does that even make sense? Most of my work is black and white line art.

EMPHASIS

Is the first time I think about it in my work or chosen reference. I usually tend to design one element and that´s it.

I still have the feeling that my personal style is not ready yet but the scavenger hunt was important to me because by listing everything that I don´t like and studying my favorite artists I was able to make guidelines for my next work.

Thank you so much for this class!
