The most remarkable thing about you standing in the doorway is that it's you, and you're standing in the doorway

I am currently in the midst of creating my own skillshare lesson, and so far your class is really inspiring and helping me come up with ideas for my own lessons - so thank you for that!

I am currently working on a design for my boyfriend for a holiday gift - I want to paint him a hand-lettered poster for his room. I have chosen a quote from The Mountain Goats song Going to Georgia:

"The most remarkable thing about you standing in the doorway is that it's you, and that you're standing in the doorway."

I know it's not quite 'short' by any means - but I want this to be special, and I'm willing to put in a good amount of effort to make it work.

The phrase itself doesn't elicit any imagery right off the bat (besides someone standing in the doorway) so I just want it to be an experiment in hand-lettering, of which I have not done much of. I love vintage lettering, and my boy is a big whisky fanatic, but I don't want this to look like any other vintage-inspired hand lettering project. Since I'm a web designer, my design sensibility as of late has leaned very graphic, flat, with large blocks of color and very clean lines. I want to try to get away from that niche, and explore different styles in this poster, while still maintaining my style in some way.
