The Three Little Pigs

Hello!

Here is my response to the Creative Brief.

Hello Sally!

Thank you so much for your interest in my work! I admire Swanky’s Publishing’s portfolio and as a former children’s librarian, this project is very intriguing.

I appreciate your thorough creative brief! However, I did have a few follow-up questions.

  • Do you have a color scheme you were interested in?
  • How flexible is the text? Is it something that could be tweaked if I move the story from its traditional setting?
  • When would the final artwork for the cover be due?
  • How many internal illustrations were you looking for? Were those full-color illustrations? When would those be due and what would the fee be?
  • Could the internal illustrations also be symbolic, or should they be more literal?
  • Is the title flexible, or can I update it?
  • Are you interested in any illustrations for the endpapers or flyleaves as well?

Thank you very much for your time and interest.

Best wishes, and by the hair on my chinny-chin-chin,

Lisa Nowlain

SKETCHES

Here are my two sketches for the project:

This is primarily a typographical version of the title page. The "Three Little Pigs" are in the materials the pigs build with, and the "Big Bad" are in wolf hair.

In this sketch, the three houses that the pigs live in are highlighted, with the lurking wolf grounding the bottom of the frame. This shows the question of - are those pigs secure?
