The Power Of Series

The Power Of Series - student project

It was a fun exercise! I started with the pen triangles, a little bit limited and I guess scared to do whatever I wanted to. Then I draw the jars… jar with drawing supplies, jar with balls, jar with hands, birds and clouds X)

Then, when the watercolor circles had dried, I started working on them and reminded me of some other illustrations I had made and patterns that I like to use and then pushed me to create new ones. I loved to be able to be more spontaneous not caring about the critical voice in my head. Plus I love to use watercolor and pen together.

Then I went back and drew some shapes with markers in different colors and started playing with faces and shapes. Like when you look at the clouds and make up shapes. Although the faces or form sometimes do not make sense or are not proportioned, or are not my favorite style, I just let it flow.

Then I turned the page… and the marker from the previous page went through the paper, so I used those shapes as well.   Faces, animals, objects, flowers…

I could keep doing this exercise for hours. It melted my critical voice…

Thank you!
