The Nature of My Mornings

PRIMARY FOCUS

Create a positive habit, a good start to the day, that brings about more productive work and a still mind. Focus on growth and discovery, movement, and mindfulness.

POSITIVE MORNING HABITS

Meditation

Exercise

Journaling

Daily Gratitude

Listening to Podcasts

Reading for personal growth

My schedule is all over the place during the summer months. Presently, on most days, I have the luxury of waking up naturally. It is often an early and fairly consistent hour, so I'd rather not set a time for my morning routine, but rather enoy it for the time being and set a schedule as opposed to a strict timeline...

MORNING ROUTINE:

0:00 --- wake up, take temp, bathroom (5)

0:05 --- make lemon water, journal (5)

0:10 --- listen to podcast/read, drink lemon water (20)

0:30 --- make/eat breakfast, continue podcast/reading (20)

0:50 --- make green tea, brush teeth, tidy up (15)

1:05 --- daily focus (1:30)

2:35 --- break (tidy up, water houseplants, no email!) (20)

2:55 --- meditate (15)

3:10 --- prepare tulsi tea, get to work! (1:30)

4:40 --- walk/stretch it out (10)

4:50 --- email break (20)

5:10 --- go forth!

MORNING DAILY FOCUS

MON: Exercise + Garden

TUES: Project Tuesday (tactile + personal)

WED: Exercise + Garden

THUR: Exercise + Garden

FRI: Fun Friday! Reclaim it!

SAT: Project Saturday (tactile + personal)

SUN: Permission to be lazy, but set a positive foundation for the week to come.

Again, I don't plan to set a specific time for my evening routine. This will change once school is back in session.

POSITIVE EVENING HABITS:

Journaling

Best & Worst with my sweetie

Minimizing screen time

Reading for pleasure

Queue podcasts for next morning (and any other prep)

Nightime tea

EVENING FOCUS:

MON: Read for pleasure (fiction)

TUES: Sketching

WED: No Lights Night (games, candlelight)

THUR: Read for pleasure (fiction)

FRI: Date night

Because I make lists for everything, and because I know it will be difficult to dive right in to this, here are a few to-do items I'd like to cross off early in this project. Hopefully these steps will help ease the transition to a more positive and productive daily routine...

--- find fiction novel (any suggestions for this memoir and self-help junkie?)

--- download podcast app on phone (again, any suggestions?)

--- change notification settings on phone and fb

--- set up a meditation station (done!)
