The High Tide Raises All Ships

"The High Tide Raises All Ships" was coined by John F. Kennedy and is associated with the idea that improvements in the general economy will benefit all participants.

I live in Denton, Tx and I'm currently in the process of starting a creative co-working space for the community. The space will serve as a creative resource for artists in the community that don't have access to space or tools as well as an incubator for new creative businesses. We are currently in the process of looking for funding and finding a suitable space.  Denton has a burgeoning creative class and is home to two universitites, the University of North Texas and Texas Womans University, both of which have renowned arts programs. However, with a lack of jobs and infrastructure to support their work many naturally take their talents to other cities with stronger creative economies; cities like Dallas, Austin, Portland, or New York. We want to try and give them a reason to stay by showing them that as a community we have the ability to foster our own creative community and create whatever cultural landscape we want to see! I whole heartedly believe that by assisting in the progress/growth of our creative community the economy at large will benefit greatly as well!

I want to use this class to help conceptualize and illustrate, "The High Tide Raises All Ships," for use on posters, t-shirts, postcards, etc. I love hand crafted anything and I'm excited for this class!
