I was so excited to find this class, it has opened up so many possibilities for me along with helping to fulfill one of my dreams. I've always wanted to illustrate digitally and combine it with my traditional art (particularly my enjoyment of botanical illustration). I'm so grateful for Liz, she literally has been an answer to prayer. What an excellent teacher and encourager. Here are my there projects (I know it only called for one but this was too good to pass up!). On the Last, the personal quote, I did something radical (for me)! I imported a piece of old hand-drawn work and colorized it to fit the color scheme. Additionally, I imported water color paper for a background texture and 'painted' the background (remember the the-dye days?) with a brush by a friend.
I really had fun! And I'm looking forward to doing more in the same vein and signing up for more of Liz's classes! LOL Look out world here I come!
This one I think was the most fun because I was able to tinker with the new layers options (was done the same night of the latest Procreate update (w/text!). I imported a gold foil jpeg and got the embossed look on the leaves by changing opacity, manipulating color via the layers. I also used Liz's brush (can't remember which) to make the vintage paper in the background. I love the look. I call this one, Bygone Days, it reminds me of the vintage botanical art books from the turn of the century.
True Friends are Flowers
I thought about doing a more fancy border but I thought the flourishes of the text and the flowers was enough. I didn't want to detract from the words so I kept things as simple as possible.
I can honestly say out of all the classes I've taken on Skillshare this one has been the most fulfilling. Thank you Liz and God bless you for your kindness!
