The Entangled P

The Sketches

Right from the beginning I knew I wanted to try an easy letter. Just to get my feet wet with this technique. Thus I chose the letter P.

The Entangled P

I seem to like the entangled type of concept. So I will go ahead and try to hand form a grid and make the design conform to it.

The Grid

In essence, I am using rectangles and circles as basic shapes to form the P. I chose a 6 x 6 grid with a 50px width, three concentric circles with 25px, 75px and 125px respective radius; and two vertical lines at 25px apart.

Grid Overlay

As I combine the lines in the rectangles and circles the Entangled P starts to take shape.  As the shape begins to appear on screen, I noticed that I need to make adjustments to it in order to make it feel a bit more balanced.

The Final Result

In summary, this exercise forced me to work with basic shapes and constrained my normal workflow in a way that I had to step away from the screen and really focus on the shape I wanted. I hope you enjoy the final result. Thanks for watching.
