Thank You Very Little

I've chosen the phrase "Thank you very little" from a movie you may have heard of, Caddyshack. It was difficult enough to stick to one particular phrase, however this one stuck out for me.

You always hear people say "Thank you" or Thank you very much" but you never hear the lower standard of thanks. There's a bit of irony to the phrase which I find amusing.

Below I've included a few words that came to mind. I will be posting a mood board shortly.

Mood Board

The first thought that came to mind for my phrase was to base it off of a vintage window store sign. However my application will be a greeting /thank you card.  Here's just a few images that jumped out to me. They vary different applications, from neon signs to vintage book covers however my overall theme will have an antique yet fun style.

A few more images to add to my mood board.

I've chosen the word Thank to begin my early type exploration.

UPDATE: November 24, 2013

I've finally had some time to work on layout explorations. I may have created too many but that's never a bad thing. Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: December 1, 2013

I've picked 4 thumbnails from the above and created a refined, cleaner sketch. I personally prefer option 1 and 2 because of the balance and readability. The lettering needs to be revised a bit more, however I think it's coming along.

If I could get any feedback, that would be great!

UPDATE: December 5, 2013

i've finalized my layout from my previous post. I always have a difficult time narrowing down from my options and than I create more options. Horrible habit when you're on a time crunch. Anyways, I've combined a few options below. I want to emphasis "Little"so even though I like option 1, I don't think it comes across the way I want it to. The "Thank You" is too fancy causing your eyes to focus mainly on that lettering.

I really like the direction I took with concept 2's "Little" lettering so I decided to stick with that throughout.

Was trying to experiment with the "Thank You" lettering, however that didn't work out too well.

I think concept 5 is the sdirection I want to go into. The "Thank You" lettering isn't too ornamental or complicated which helps  the word "Little" to stand out.

Finally done my drawing after a few indecisive letter option changes. Here is the refined sketch below.

Below I cleaned up the previous sketch to make it easier for me to ink.

Inking the final layout.

Final ink drawing complete! Will most likely colorize it later.

UPDATE: March 24, 2014

I figured I would finalize my ink drawing since I had some free time.
