Taste the Terroir

Taste the Terroir - student project

Wow was this a stretch for me but my Photoshop skills are the stronger for it! I used to screenprint a lot and really missed the texture that would happen organically, especially with type; the effect on this project is subtle but I can definitely see a difference in the edges.

We've been trapped indoors with a blizzard here so I gathered most of my textures from around my apartment. Fortunately, it's old and rundown so there were a lot of interesting ones (that's looking on the bright side of living in a dump). I also have a lot of fabric so I scanned some of that as well.

I did a wine label because I love the word terroir and I offset the color on the boxing gloves because that's something else that I miss from physical screenprinting. I didn't get to play with color as miuch as I would like but I have ideas....

This was a lot of fun! Definitely something that I'm going to have to continue to use and practice because I can think of a lot of potential uses but I'll have to play around to get them right. Thank you for the awesome class, Andrew!
