Sunroom

Big thank you to Bonnie for her excellent, in depth teaching. I took SPD 1.0 not too long ago and realized that I really enjoyed it and I'm very excited to keep creating patterns.

Sunroom is inspired by the bright sunlight that envelopes the sunroom in my parent's home and the light it provides to a growing houseplant collection; providing green and joy during the cold winter months.

I began by sketching some leaves and flower shapes that appealed to me.

I also found some inspiration for the colour palette from some colours testing of my copic markers turned art. I just loved the bright pops of colour and these were the inspiration for Solum.

Part of what I wanted to capture was brightness, quirkiness, and lots of foliage. That's what relaxing in a sunroom is about for me. That and a lot of coffee and chatting.
