Subway Hallway

I recently took a trip to New York with an instagram friend. We met through our local instagram community #igdc. While we were up north, I was surprisingly able to capture an empty hallway at the metro.

This is the original photo:

I first dropped it into Snapseed to adjust the brightness, ambiance, contrast and added subtle detail. I wanted to enhance the way the lights were reflecting off the walls, while keeping the shadow that the center light fixture was casting.

Similar to the teacher I go from Snapseed to Vsco. I personally prefer black and white images, so I used the B4 preset. To me it gave the image a raw type effect. I lowered the filter, adjusted the exposure and contrast just a bit and attempeted to straighten the image. I'm still working on my symmetry, but I ran into the issue of either straighting the image from the light fixture or the center crack down the path. I went with straightening the light fixture and finally cropped the image. I'm happy with the reults.
