Stretching Daily and Exercise Routine

I used to stretch all the time and I exercised almost daily.  What originally got me out of the habit was surgery back in 2001 and I couldn't do sit ups anymore.  I have had other medical issues and I keep talking myself out of doing exercises or stretches.  As a result, I am very much out of shape, I've gained 50 pounds and I feel sluggish.  I know that the only way to get back to feeling like my old self and sheding the weight is to do what I used to do and stretch and exercise daily.  I just need to get back into the habit so I feel better.  It's easier to sit at the computer than to exercise. 

I realize now that I picked a "keystone" habit without even thinking about it.  I just know that when I do exercise I have more energy, feel better, move more easily and lose weight.  Since it is tied into goals that I desire, it seemed like a natural habit to work on.
