Stress level and email frequency: What's the relationship?

I'm a freelance survey writer/market researcher and am constantly checking email.  I thought that the more often I checked email in an hour, the more stressed I felt, so I decided to collect some data. I noted how many times I checked email every hour, and then my stress level from 1-5 at the end of each hour.

It turned out that my stress level was more driven by other things: high when a client crisis (research emergency!!!) erupted, but low when I resolved it. I also had super high stress for an hour in the afternoon when I didn't check email at all because the wifi was down.

I'm more of a word person than visual-- so would love any thoughts on this: Does the gmail icon make sense? Are the stress level icons necessary? What about the text? Anything else??
