I’m not quite able to go totally wild and draw faces as part of unreal monster-like characters yet, but I am enjoying what’s emerging as I continue to experiment with the ideas from Charles Yang’s fantastic classes.
A Dog’s Memories veered out of control a bit for me and ended up somewhere interesting and kind of special. I’m torn between viewing the faces as embarrassingly simplistic and as just perfect for this picture. In the end, I left them simplistic because they reminded me of a dog we adopted who came from an abused background. A lot of his life with us was spent helping him get past his complex old demons so that he could enjoy a simple, happy and non-threatening new life.
