I tried this painting several times and, although it doesn't look exactly like Melinda's, I was happy with several aspects of it- techniques I took away from her class. I loved layering the mountains, then I was happy with the distant trees in the distance. The rocks were fun to do with a credit card and the sea spray turned out to be a mixture of paper towel removal of paint, toothbrush splatter and finally sponge texture. I have to get some Arches watercolor paper as my ocean did not have the texture I was searching for, but in this piece, I was pretty happy with it nonetheless. Thank you, Melinda, for another wonderful informative class!
