Still 'thinking' really hard about creating my 'own' Udemy online course...???

THANKS FOR THE WORDS OF ADVICE ON HOW TO CREATE AN ONLINE COURSE

First, thanks very much for the 'how to go about creating a Udemy Course' tips; which are all very deeply appreciated. ;-)

I especially liked the lesson part that explains how to search for, and, discover which are the most popular Udemy courses that are also 'paid for'.

I also liked the part which said that 'you are unique'; therefore, you can offer stuff which nobody else on the market can...delivering it in a manner which is all entirely yours; and, only yours, alone.

I 'think' about creating an online course, constantly, all the time. Being 'unemployed' I need a way to generate both passive, and, too, regular income; I figure that once the course has already been created; and, is published; then, the income will be able to generate itself; that is provided it's well promoted.

MY OWN SKILLS ARE PROGRAMMING RELATED /SELF-TAUGHT PROGRAMMER FOR YEARS

Second, I'm a self-taught programmer who has been studying for a number of years. I do have at least one particular programming language which I do much prefer to use; so, I thought with my admittedly mere 'amateur' purely self-taught experience; it might be worthwhile creating a course which is related to learning this one particular programming language. Of course, I would have to call it something like:

-[Programming language goes here] for complete Beginners

-Beginner up to Intermediate [Programming language goes here]

...or, looking at it from an entirely different angle...instead, of focussing on learn this 'specific' programming language; I could choose to use a title which focuses on just learning more 'general' programming techniques; therefore, I might call the course...

-Learn programming techniques using [Programming language goes here]

MY WORRIES ABOUT GOING AND CREATING AN EFFECTIVE COURSE MYSELF

Third, I think that identifying what are your own skills; and, therefore, what type of course you may wish to create is the easy part.

The hard part is producing it...and, furthermore, producing it in such a way that it will have a truly 'professional' look.

My deepest fears about going and creating a course are...

-I'm not a very good designer

-I'm not a very good talker

-I'm not entirely sure that my writing skills are up to it...concerning proper spelling/grammar; (but, then, again, there is Microsoft Word spell check; and, also, some FREE online software you can download called: Grammerly).

-I don't have expensive camera/light/sound/editing equipments; furthermore, being 'unemployed'...then, that means I would have to do everything on a really tight budget.

What I do have is...

-A computer/with programming language already installed/and, the skills of knowing how to use it (to the 'amateur/intermediate' level of ability)

-A 'cheap' 16 MP/MegaPixels compact digital camera/along with fixed tripod

-Living room quality lighting...(the light bulb)

-For writing scripts: Windows 10 Free accessory editor program: Notepad/WordPad/or, MS Word

-For presenting slides: MS Powerpoint (I'm a yearly subscriber to MS Office software packages)

-Last, but, certainly not least...I suffer from ADD/Attention Deficit Disorder...meaning, I tend to start things/and, never ever finish them off.

PROCRASTINATION BEHAVIOUR

I'm a total 'procrastinator'. Meaning, I will 'think' about doing it, quite simply, forevermore...! But, then, when it comes to actually getting up, and, actually doing it for 'real'...then, I can be lazy as sheer bitter hell. Though, I should very quickly care to add that the word 'lazy' does often contain other things which lie behind it...such as a lack of self-confidence. I've never ever produced a successful online course in all of my entire life; so, why on earth should I believe that it's possible to do that, now...?! Sometimes, I give up without ever really trying too hard; or, at other times, I start out enthusiastically to begin with...but, do very quickly run out of steam...especially, whenever I run into the first big hurdle/or else, the next...?!

BUILD COURSE, FIRST/THEN, LATER ON, WORK ON IMPROVING IT BY DOING FURTHER GRADUAL REFINING

My guess is, what I'm going to have to do is...try creating an online course which is related to the subject/or, subject(s) that I'm most deeply interested in; then, even if the course is not a very good one to begin with; gradually, I should be able to further refine and develop it as I go along. Learn as you go sort of thing...; but, with no course having been written to start with; then, quite obviously, I'm going to get absolutely nowhere!

Bye/-Paul
