In this class, we’ll go over some fast and easy techniques for drawing quick cartoons that add an element of fun to your daily communications. People seem to remember the content of a message if it has some kind of personalized image associated with it.

Don't forget that you can use quick sketch methods in your journal writing and bullet lists too.

ASSIGNMENT

Draw a quick cartoon of your favorite sport, hobby and occupation

Adding fun cartoons to your blogs, Social Media Posts, newsletters and personal notes is a great way to make your messages stand out.

Your assignment is to add a Stick Figure With Style to a note for each of these 3 topics:

  • Favorite Sport
  • Favorite Hobby
  • Favorite Occupation

Show some samples

Materials list:

  • Note Pad (sticky notes, refrigerator notepads, index cards or cut out 3 inch x 3 inch squares of paper)
  • Pencil or Pen (regular no.2 pencil and basic ballpoint or felt tip pen works great)
  • Water Brush for added shadow effects (optional)

DELIVERABLE

  • Upload images of your notes to share with the class

People will be thrilled to receive a fun cartoon or doodle in a personal note.

I look forward to seeing the variety of sports, hobbies and occupations that students come up with.
