PROJECT MILESTONE #1: SELECT SCREENWRITING IDEA FROM PITCHES

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for reviewing my pitches and offering your constructive criticism.  However, after debating with myself over which one would work better as a 10 min short film...(drum roll).....I've decided to go with pitch #4 -- THE PAPER STANCE.  I chose THE PAPER STANCE to focus on as my screenwriting script for the simple fact that I love the dark ending (although I might change it to a semi-happier ending...still up in the air on that).  Also, I'm a sucker for print and the medium of print and am a cheerleader of print will never die, and the fact that the protagonist is a book is quite quirky and different and will be fun to develope as a character. For those who have not had a chance to get to read my pitches, I've posted below the brief synopsis of THE PAPER STANCE.

Pitch #4: The Paper Stance
Story about a book, we'll call him Blue...Blue Book, for lack of a better name. It is the year 2035 and libraries are on their way to become completely extinct, due to the digital age taking over all media and communications. Blue Book, however, resides in one of the final libraries in existence, which is about to cave in to the perils of digitizing itself. Since Blue Book has found out about his fate of being scanned in two weeks to become an e-book in the Virtual Library of the World (VLW), he's on a mission to revolt to stay as a printed book.  Because Blue Book believes that there is still use and need for the printed book.  So for the next two weeks at night, Blue Book and several of his friends, who also wish to remain in print, congregate to come up with a plan to stay in print. Through much determination and subtle ways of trying to convince a few employees of the library to keep some books within their print form, unfortunately their efforts were not a success and the plan to digitize the whole library went on as planned. Blue Book and his co-horts became e-books and part of the Virutual Library of the World (VLW).  Moral of the story -- "Sometimes our greatest efforts can still result to our biggest disappointment."

Thanks!

Tenisha

Ain't this a PITCH... ☺

Pitch #1: 3:44

Clarke Bridges is a socially inept individual, who just so happens to be the assistant to the executive director at THERE magazine, Ms. Lynn Freigh, also notoriously known as MJ's dragon. With all the perks and bragging rights associated with being part of THERE magazine, one would think Clarke definitely has it made.  However, having worked there for the past 1 ½ years, Clarke has come to realize that this “shit” (for lack of a better word) is for the birds and that she is working in her own personal hell, that is fueled by her boss…Ms. Freigh. Dealing with someone on a daily basis that quite clearly has some undiagnosed mental issues. Clarke starts find herself absorbing as if osmosis, the negativity that surrounds her daily. This is not good…this must change.  It is January, 26, 2013.  A day that will go down in “I’m so done” history.  A day that Clarke not only gave up the ghost and let go and let GOD, but let herself walk out the doors of THERE Media Inc. for good….at 3:44pm.

Pitch #2: Untitled

It's an hour before her very first show at New York Fashion Week.  Crowned the design darling of 2017, Harris Anderson is a bundle of emotions from excitement, to overwhelming, to just plain scared.  However, with all these emotions, one in particular seems to overtake her thoughts, and that is the lack of confidence that her show will be a success.  Why you ask?  Because everything that could go wrong…is. From late models, to model no shows, to missing garments, etc.  You name it, it is happening.  WTF? Is the constant question being asked silently in Harris’ mind. However, at a time when everything seems to be failing, Harris receives strength and help from the unlikeliest of  characters on her team…a first season wardrobe intern that seems to idolize the ground that Harris walks on. Thus, pulling off a show-stopping presentation and leading to reviews that not even the highest and well-established designers are guaranteed to receive. [coming out of the dream sequence] Harris Anderson, snaps out of her prolonged daydream to the sound of click-clack heels, models screaming “ouch” for the 100th time because of the tug of war performed on their hair, and the designer having a nervous breakdown.  Yes, this is all happening at once, but being a first season wardrobe intern, this is what Harris has dreamed about being apart of…at least.

Pitch #3: Flipped the Script

The Soulle family was a very well-known and respected family in the small Midwestern town of Chillicothe, IL. A family of 14, the accomplished individuals ranged from senate politician to owner of one of the best bakeries in the country.  However, the bond within the Soulle family that so many people looking from the outside in viewed as strong and unbreakable was a mirage, a full façade. This family had grown apart starting with the death of their father Edgar Soulle ten years ago.  However, now with the passing of their mother, Ann Soulle, one would think that this would restore the closeness they had as children and tear away any animosity that had drudge up during the pass decade, but ONE would be wrong.  This only sparked the war between the sibilings even more. The sibilings all attend the readling of the will from the family attorney, and find out that their mother had left a 10.5 million dollar inheritance. The catch, the only way her children can receive their inheritance is if they can go a whole 365 days without one agrument.  They may disagree, but the slightest tinge of that disagreement turning into an argument or unfavorable words, then they all lose the inheritance, not just the ones who were caught not getting along.  The double catch to this...the task or monitoring the behavior of her children and eventually evenly distributing the inheritance to all 12 children has been delegated to Ann Soulle's two "favorite" granddaughters. Thus, the beginning of even more bickering, ass-kissing, and lies.  Will the Soulle family come out victorious...financially and morally?  Only time, more like 365 days, will tell.
