Stardust - Neil Gaiman

Book Selection

Stardust is one of my favorite stories. It is an excellent book and also a wonderful movie, though the tone of the two are very different. I will be focusing my research around the book and because i've read it before I understand the general ideas and themes. I have been wanting to read it again so this gives me a reason to set aside some time to devote to it and taking notes.

"Hopelessly crossed in love, a boy of half-fairy parentage leaves his mundane Victorian-English village on a quest for a fallen star in the magical realm. The star proves to be an attractive woman with a hot temper, who plunges with our hero into adventures featuring witches, the lion and the unicorn, plotting elf-lords, ships that sail the sky, magical transformations, curses whose effects rebound, binding conditions with hidden loopholes and all the rest."

General Notes & Themes

  • What you're looking for is right in front of you all along.
  • Help anyone in need, and simply accept their payment.

  • Be polite, but never let down your guard.

  • Good mind + good heart = ...Good.

  • Never eat faerie food.

Ill add more here as I read through the book.
