Square S design in black and white

I initally sketched some S's based on fonts that I've been collecting to consider for our family crest:

Then I thought it would be in the spirit of Bokhua's example to square it, so I put in some angles, riffing on the Lapture font capital S that's based on a hand carved German printing press:

I liked how the Lapture capital S has a one way serif....

So my first S1 both angled and square:

Then did a more parellel variation on this for S2:

And finally S3 was the most like my original sketch, although I found S1 and S2 fit the square much better than the elongated angles required to "square" it:
