Spring Florals

This is the first class I took here on Skillshare and I can't express how happy I am that is. I've always had difficulty creating patterns; they've always felt stiff and you could always see where they started and finished but after this class I can now make seamless patterns. I can't even stop smiling =D.

My sketches

I started off by roaming around on my Pinterest (genius idea by-the-way, I hadn't used my Pinterest in years) and started finding inspiration and doodling. It took a few days of on and off doodling before I got what I wanted.

Mood Board

I honestly didn't make a mood board until after I was done because my "mood board" was basically scrolling through Pinterest but I this together so you can get an idea of what I liked.

The Pattern

So after getting my sketches together and creating the vectors in Illustrator I went right to work on the pattern and it took a couple of days before I got each piece right and found a "flow" (I guess XD). Then I went into coloring and I found a pretty color scheme I loved and I tried to make it work. I have two different colored patterns; a deep blue and a cream color.

Mockup-ish

I tried to to create a mockup to get an idea of what my pattern would look like on products but I've never made them before and was not sure where to get the best photos to do it with but I found a phone cover to try it out on.

Thank you so much for this pattern experience, I've enjoyed it so much and plan to take on part two!

Thanks for reading!
