Spring Determination

First of all, I would just like to thank Bonnie Christine for inspiring me to get where I am today.

It all started about a month ago when I happened to get on CreativeLive and tune into her class on building and binding a portfolio. As a graphic designer, the concept of surface pattern design really intrigued me but I had to first come to understand my personal style. I went through quite a few sketches (and 254 pictures of random inspiration on my phone to be exact) and turned them into vector with the handy Adobe Shape CC app. Some of my motifs I hand-drew with the blob brush tool and smoothed everything out with the smooth tool. I even created my own shortcut for it because it's like my new favorite tool! But with your help, Bonnie, I learned the ins and outs of Illustrator in just a matter of weeks and took my Adobe Certified Associate exam in Graphic Design & Illustration and passed!! Considering I am just entering the workforce, this is HUGE for future job opportunities for me.

Anyway, I intend to turn this "showstopper" into a collection one day. It is surprisingly easy to do now that I understand the concept of making a repeating pattern. And build on the skills that I've learned through your help. I even made this my desktop wallpaper because I'm loving it so much!

In fact, I probably will send this to Spoonflower and deck out my college apartment to celebrate.  :)

Thank you to the moon and back, and then back to the moon again,

Sierra Breshears
