Spiritus Frumenti - FINAL.

STEP 1:

I chose Deacon Taylor from Edgar Lee Master's Spoon River Anthology. I liked the title of 'Spiritus Frumenti' because it states pretty clearly the character's enjoyment of the drink, and is a bit of a play on the usage of the word Spirit, a double meaning to match his double life, as deacon and drinker and the whole spirit/ soul vs spirit/ liquor. I actually have little to no experience with religion as I am not praticing, and I don't drink much, so it was fun to sort of create characters so different from myself, but with my humor.

STEP 2: DRAFTING:

FINAL DRAFT : I will not have more time to work on this, so this is the best draft I can put up. I changed the Montage to a series of quick cuts, Added some more time period specific vocabulary and a bit of self aware hipster humor. Overall I took the subject and used my style of writing (which tends to be dramedy/comedy).
