South TX folk art - student project

South TX folk art - image 1 - student projectSo enjoying the class during the last few weeks of staying at home. Limited access to wifi, so I've been downloading classes on the iPad (Yay! Thanks SkillShare!) and thought I'd upload the few pieces of works in progress while I had the chance. Posting as I have wifi. :) I tried adding extra detail lines after the fills, but opted to leave them out & keep the piece as is.

Haven't finished the entire course yet, but have learned so many helpful tips for using Procreate. Thank you for putting the class together!South TX folk art - image 2 - student project

Inspiration came from the scenery around - love Texas Bluebonnets & they are in full bloom this time of year. Considered using a roadrunner for the bird until a friend reminded me of her kitchen, which is completely decorated with Roosters. The pics for my board came from her place & my yard. Wanted to use cactus, but couldn't make it work once I got to the inking stage. Still, happy with how things are going & hopefully will post the final piece next wk.
