Sookie's Concentric Circles

I had a lot difficulty with this assignment. I am using Windows, so some of the MAC commands mentioned in the video didn't work for me. I had to look up what commands would work with windows. Alt in Windows is the same as Option on a Mac, and Ctrl is typically the same as Command on a Mac. However, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't make the duplicate/enlarged circles using the Ctrl (Command) + D.  I ended up copying each circle, pasting in place, and enlarging it using transform.  I also had to make sure I layered the smaller circles on top of the bigger ones.  The rest of the video instructions for the first circle worked fine (e.g. coloring and rotating the pieces).

Couldn't get the second concentric circle method to work at all.  When I went through the instructions and outlined my strokes, it only recognized the first stroke.  I couldn't figure out how to get Illustrator to outline all the different strokes. I gave up trying to make this circle.

I created the freeform shape and added the circles.  Outlined the stroke but when I picked Intersect from Pathfinder, it said, "The filter produced no results. Please select two overlapping paths" even though everything looks like it is selected.  I couldn't work my way through this exercise either.

Overall, I liked the concepts discussed, and the tutorial gave me some design ideas, but I was very disappointed because I was unable to implement the instructions and come up with a finished product.
