MANIFESTO

We’re wired to read every t-shirt we see.

Processing graphics/text on cotton is an inescapable reflex.

Shouldn’t we ask for this vehicle to carry more meaning?

Ubiquity shouldn’t equal lack of depth.

ABOUT

[soft megaphone]® is a New York City-based wearable journal that chronicles the struggle and the hustle.

Published bimonthly, [sm]® aims to serve as the city’s diary, written through the lens of system-crumbling satire to foster a culture of subversive egalitarianism.

PURPOSE

A soft canvas for hard change.

Two sleeves at a time.

PURCHASING PLATFORM

[sm]® is will be published 6 times a year and is intended to be distributed thorugh a two-cycle crowdsourced model.

HOW IT WORKS

Month 1/ISSUE #1(let’s say Jan.) is distributed through subscription only.

The graphics (stock / inks) are open to designer’s preferences.

Month 2 (in this case Feb.) opens for back orders of previous month (Jan issue).

These pre-paid back orders will go to print at end of Month 2.

The graphics (stock/ inks) will treated as essentials,

i.e. monochromatic versions of Month 1’s graphics.

(Black/white stock with black/white inks)

Month 3 (in this case March) will release new issue for subscriptions, ISSUE #2.

Month 4(in this case April) opens for back orders of most recent issue only.

This way we keep waste/overhead/surplus/prices low.
