Sofa styling

Drawer chest styling

I kept a fresh, neo romantic attitude for my chest styling to match with my bed. I used a few small rattan baskets for storing my rings and blacelets that create texture along with the crocheted doily, a vintage gilded hand mirror leaning on the bigger vanity mirror (love the mirror on morror effect!) and a white orchid to give some height and freshness to the composition. The colors are kept simple and the palette varies from turquoise to greens and neutrals.

Bed styling

My bed styling I call turquoise and lace for obvious reasons. I wanted a fresh look, with basic decoration and pure, handmade bedding I was presented by my grandmother. I always wanted to add a sheer drape to my canopy bed and now was the best time to try out. You can see a few more shots of the bedroom at My Paradissi. Hope you like it!

Sofa styling

Playing with textures can be so fun! Here's wha I did with my sofa. I experimented with a few options but I picked these two I really likd in the end. You can see a small gif I did with all the options plus more photos  and close ups at My Paradissi.

Which one is your favorite?

Coffee table styling

Here's my try on styling my coffee table. It is a really big, rectangle one and that was quite a challenge! I played with texture and shapes, added some bling and kept an almost neutral palette with some blues to go along with the denim pillows on the sofa.

What do you think? I'd love to hear some feedback!

My Paradissi's abode (before styling)

Living room area. Here you can see my sofa, coffee table, boockase. I kept things simple around here and I'm so ready for some styling updates!

Bedroom. No styling whatsoever. And this will change ;)

The 8 Principles of Styling

NEEDS: A place to sit, lounge, relax, communicate with friends/family. The acapulco pair round the coffee table serve this need.

SHAPE: The rounded acapulco chairs and the xl curvy poster on the wall make an interesting contrast to the rounded acapulco chairs and the xl curvy poster on the wall.

COLOR: Bold colors and neon hues on the chair, pillow and poster create a balanced palette on the warm woods and white walls.

PATTERN: Mixture of contemporary patterns, cowhide rug and stripes in color or black and white.

TEXTURE: The cowhide rug adds texture to the room. I'd also suggest that the string of the acapulco chairs create a visual interest that adds up to the texture of the room.

PLACEMENT:Three green accents on the console and the table vignettes grouped in the tray on the coffee table. I love the pairs in this room, like the chairs and the framed prints, whith the small leaning on the large one over the console.

BLING: The bowls on the coffee table provide a metallic bling but I guess that all that glass of the large frame will shine like heaven.

BOTANICALS: A small sansiveria plant in a ceramic pot and a vase with flowers on the console.
