Snow Falling

Ever since I was little, I have always been fascinated by the nighttime stillness of winter. I remember walking home from epic snowball fights or ice skating on the lake by my house looking up at the stars, mesmerized by the enormity of the sky and and the way that the cold air made the stars twinkle even more. Rather than feeling cold and alone with the silence, it was as if the sky absorbed all of the merriment and reflected it back with the stars.  Now years have passed, mall lights drown out the stars and I no longer live in a neighborhood that would make Thomas Kinkade choke with jealousy, but I want to illustrate that youthful outlook on the stars. I also though it would be fun to see if I could use the end result as my holiday card, but one step at a time.

I took Brad's introduction to Illustrator course, so I am pretty excited to be continuing what I learned with this one!
