Snow Day

Snow Day - student project

I only vectorized the toboggans and these are 2 of my final products.  I was contemplating giving up at one point when I couldn't come up with something I liked, but I kept at it and I kind of like how it turned out.  Although I didn't stick to my original colour palette as the colours clashed too much in the designs.

This is all there is to the sketches.  Nothing exceptional really.  The ideas always seems so much grander in my head.

I've been creating a lot of florals lately but my second love is definitely geometrics.  I'm planning on entering a future Spoonflower challenge called "Snow Day" and living in Calgary I've plenty of experience with snow.  But I want to put a different spin on it by trying to come up with a geometric that says "Snow Day."  I love the snow.  It's ability to absorb sound makes the world seem so peaceful and quite with a big white blanket smothering it.  But it also has the ability to bring such joy.  I've tried to create a mood board that incorporates both peace and joy shown through the images themselves and through the colours in the images.
