Slauz - Lady Autumn

Slauz - Lady Autumn - student project

Hi everyone :)

I'm Stéphane Lauzon, I'm from Saint-Eustache, Quebec and I'm an illustrator/graphic designer.

You can see my portfolio at or follow my journey as illustrator on Facebook :)

Mostly, I work with watercolour, so using ink was pretty cool ! I like the waterproof. In my case, the bottle says waterproof, but with to much Lavis, the ink begins to smudge with the watercolour. I really love the grisaille of ink. Pure ink is so black, something that is very hard to get with watercolour.

I try watercolour paper Fabriano mount (by myself) on a masonite. Here, you can see my sketch from my sketchbook and the transferred illustration on my watercolour paper. I used transfer paper with graphite on it, unfortunately the line was too bold and impossible to erase :( So, that's my first mistake.

I used 2 kinds of brushes. One oriental and one for watercolour # 6. I forgot to take a picture before I begin the color, sorry. :)

I know the class was not about color, but autumn without color is not logical for me :)

That was a really great class, thank you very much ! I will try again for sure :)
