Sketch Your Life

Jan 31

Learned a lot in this 1 week marketing class. Thank you Skillshare! Sharing the progress of my class so far...

  • Number of students enrolled in your class: 38 students from the time I started this class Jan 25-31
  • Positive reviews from your students: 100%
  • What tactics worked best for you to market your class: creating a tutorial and engaging with the students
  • What you plan to do next to market your class: create a workshop, post a video clip from my class; posting my students' work on my website and social media.
  • What you plan to do next to engage with your student: workshop, AMA, community discussions

I am continously sharing ways on how I promoted my class. Skillshare has been very helpful and I believe that following their guide can enable our class to reach to more students who need it.

Included the class referral link on the signature of my email

Created a tutorial in guiding students how to create depth in watercolor painting here.

Shared the progress of my online class and celebrating the success of it. Also shared photos of students' works in my Facebook page.

I shared my class in my facebook page:

And I also wrote a blogpost about my journey in creating an online class.

In the Merchandising page I have implemented everything before I published this class except for adding the Video Lesson Notes. The reason is because I have included notes in my class videos.

For marketing my class, I have shared some free enrolment links to friends and family although surprisingly only about 7 enroled out of the 15 that I gave. I didn't make my class temporarily free. I have also added my online class with the referral link in my email, blog and social media

Below is my written email inviting family and friends to check out my class and enrol for free:

Hello, Jennifer

I hope you are well!

I have been busy for the past several months working hard on my first online class. I’m excited to announce that I have just released my first class on Skillshare, Sketch Your Life: Create Expressive Sketches in Paint and Watercolor.

I choose you as one of the few to take my class for free here - http://skl.sh/1QdQ7sY. Your enrollment will take one minute, is totally free, and will help my class reach out to a wider audience.

All I ask is that you will give me an honest review of the class and participate in the assignment. If you don’t have time to watch the videos right away, I totally understand, but I hope you will take a quick moment to enroll and leave your feedback as soon as you get the chance. You may even find some other classes you love on Skillshare.

I hope that you will learn something new and have fun because I have certainly enjoyed making this class. Thank you so much for your support!

Sketch your life wherever you are!

Take care and God bless you!

Sincerely,

Elisa

I published my first class last december 2015. I am thankful to Skillshare for guiding us how to market our classes that can reach out to many learners.

I joined this class so that I can learn more about how to market and allow my class to help others sketch their lives.
