Learn the Basics of Coloured Pencils while creating some beautiful flowers

In this class you will create your first coloured pencil composition, one simple stunning floral.

I will choose a daisy because most of us are familiar with their general shape and their petals are simple to draw. We will start by learning how to hold our colour pencils to achieve different effects, how to control the pressure we apply and how different strokes look.

We will learn how to build up our colour intensity with layers and how to blend different colours together. We will pay extra to lights and shadows to create a stunning project.

For our final project we will choose an image or find a real daisy to draw.

We will make our line drawing and start to identify where our lightest and our darkest areas will be located.

We will slowly build up our hues by starting with our midtones.

Taking pictures throughout the process is always a good idea, as this medium takes a lot of time and it is always exciting to see how the magic happens.
