She believed she could so she did

Someone else mentioned that they could not change the project cover photo and I find I am having the same trouble! Oh well. It serves as the original intention for my project, but as I progressed, it took an entirely different direction.

I began by downloading a font free for commercial use called Abril Fatface. (What a name!) I loved the thick letter and sturdy serif. I used the carbon transfer method and my outlines were very light which made the clean up easier. Here is my in process painting photo:


I originally painted this font to possibly use for my daughter's birth announcement. The phrase "Hello, sweet beautiful girl" hangs in her room and I wanted to make my own version of it for her. Here is the completed vector alphabet:


Finally it was time to play with the letters!  As this project progressed for many people in this group, I was inspired how people added more than just the font and so I wanted to play with an entire design and found I wanted more from my quote. As I begin my journey in design, I try to surround myself with constant uplifting reminders. With the girly quality of the font, I wanted to send a strong "Girl Power" message! "She believed she could so she did"
