Sent-Well Stationery Packaging Design

CONCEPT:

Sent-Well.com is my own website, where I sell designer, letterpress, eco-friendly cards and small gift items. I handwrite the cards, stamp and send for my clientelle. I am trying to branch out and have more products of my own, that I can market to try and get a little more media attention with.

PROJECT:

One of the products is a set of stationery, inspired by a recent trip to Az. I need to come up with a name, and branding for this card set.

  • Q: What kind of product is this? A: Stationery, to be packaged in a clear plastic box.
  • Q: What is an appropriate aesthetic? A: Modern, Tribal, Fresh, Colorful
  • Q: How can I design the label to help the product look unique? A: Hoping to learn that here!
  • Q: What kind of application will be used to affix it to the product? A: Sticker, or bellyband. And, a postcard on back tying in the the theme, showing all cards in package.
  • Q: Are there any special circumstances like budget concerns or production restrictions? A: not really
  • Q: What are the important words that need to stand out to sell the product as best as possible? A: Undecided as of the moment.

MOOD BOARD:

This is just a quick pinterest board, to get started on color and concept. I need to create packaging for the stationery set.  I am thinking there needs to be a way to communicate all the illustrations in the pack, while functioning to keep everything together and neat.

SKETCHES:
I am really behind, and of course, but the time I sketched something, I realize the size/placement is all wrong, but at least wanted to get an idea started....

So I am back to the drawing board. I like the rectangular layout more, I think that's the way to go.

I'm going to simplify, and try to use color to tell the story.  This will be print on kraft paper, using washi tape to adhere it to the package.
