Screen Printed Type

I started by painting my own typography and then scanned in each individual character with my scanner, moving the letters to create a sort of 'warped' effect.

This would be the back of my zine when completely unfolded. I wanted the otherside to follow this same concept so I painted the word control and began to 'warp' this word in the same way I did for the alphabet using a scanner. The idea behind this was that when you unfolded the zine, the word control would start to loose.. control, and become more and more unlegible.

I then worked out how the paper would be folded and began to screenprint onto the thinest card I could find that would be able to handle the ink on both sides without ruining either side. Here is an example what both sides of the piece of card looked like before being folded

I created 4 different designs. Here they are from 1st page to last and then finally the back page which was the alphabet.

Hoping to carry this project on and create even more Zines.

The good thing about screenprinting is you can print many of the same zine and try using different colours with your design.
