Saponified Craft Brewed Skincare

Growing up, soap was a family business but I was never drawn to use many of them because of the strong fragrance smell. I always went for a more natural bar, something that didn't include potent fragrance oil as an ingredient. One day I was researching skincare that was more mild, for me and my girlfriend, and ended up stumbling upon beer soap and decided to make it! I relied upon years of family experience to learn the process immediately. The next day I rushed to a nearby liquor store to buy some of my favorite local craft beer and proceeded to make my own fragrance oil and dye free beer soap.

After anxiously waiting a couple weeks for it to cure, I was finally able to try it out. I fell in love with it the first time I used it. I couldn't stop talking about how good my skin felt and looked, as did my girlfriend/ Saponified's co-owner. Soon friends had to try it, with the same reaction as our own. Shortly after we built my own molds, ordered more oils and supplies to start the business, Saponified Skincare. A few short months later Saponified is in communication with a local brewery for their byproducts used in the brewing process that we use in my skincare line available on Etsy.

At Saponified, we strive to produce a fragrance free and dye free skincare line and are creating the products with the concept of deconstructing the beer brewing process. Taking the highly benefical base ingredients used and applying them in different ways within the skincare line, we use them in everything from soap bars to lip balm. By doing this we are able to create natural unisex products that are very beneficial to a variety of skin types.
