Sample project

Hello everyone and welcome to the class!

This is my sample project. So I decided to make digital version of my watercolor wreath drawing.

First, I’ve scanned it in 600 dpi and open it in Photoshop. Here is my source image:

Then I’ve made some color adjustments in Photoshop (my favourite tools for this are Levels and Curves. But maybe you know another one cool way to improve scanned images in Photoshop, so don’t hesitate to share it with us!). Here is my image after color correction:

And, finally, I’ve removed background from my wreath to be able use it on any color background. Here it is:

So, I could continue with my wreath, but it’s too detailed with a lot of colors, and the output vector will be not so cool though. That’s why for transforming to vector I’ve chosen this simple flower. Here’s the full history of processing this image:

And finally, I have a couple of designs (logo for an event agency and a greeting card) just to show you what can you do with processed image and how you can use them in your projects.
