SOAP! (And Other Cleansing Agents?)

Talking things through is a huge part of my thinking process, so with that in mind, this is likely to change the more I talk about it, write about it, and think about it.

So far:

I'm liking the idea of different cleansers, (soaps, detergents, ammonia based, bleach based, water based, baking soda, synthetic)

I want my design to depict and old-timey, Victorian-styled bathroom, the kind with a claw foot bathtub that's overflowing with bubbles. Out of the bathtub of bubbles there will be small groupings floating up to the ceiling. These groupings will depict specific substances and their subgroupings. On the right, I'll have a rough timeline running up the side, showing approximately when each substance came into vogue.

Soap, for those who don't know, was originally made over 3000 years ago. So I've got a pretty hefty time line to work with. I'm thinking as I get closer to present day, I'll have some of the bubbles collecting on the ceiling, since I'll probably have the most development in the last 50 years.

So that's what I've got so far.... any ideas, tips, thoughts etc. Shoot em over. I've never taken a design course in my life, but I've always had a curiosity. So I'm ready for some constructive criticism.
