SKETCHES: Flouncy,Feminine and Full-bodied

SKETCHES: Flouncy,Feminine and Full-bodied - student project

I had fun doing these sketches! The more I sketched, the easier and more fluid doing the pencil strokes and body proportions became.  My first sketch was the Giambattista Valli dress in the first image below, and I discovered that I enjoyed working with a lighter line weight after practicing with the other runway looks.

As I don't have access to a scanner at the moment, I am taking pictures of the sketches with my phone..so, sorry for the bad quality!

More to come later!

I'm inspired by dramatic textures, billowing gowns and classic feminine silhouettes.  As I'm yearning for spring, I'm currently drawn to vibrant greens and yellows, soft pastels and floral details.

Many of my runway inspirations come from the Christian Dior Spring 2011 Couture Collection..Other designers include Giambattista Valli, Oscar de la Renta, Ulyana Sergeenko, and Valentino
