Rules are broken but patterns are created!

Rules are broken but patterns are created! - student project

I have to confess, I did break some rules of the assignment:

1. I didn't take pictures of any plants or nature at all. There's a good reason for that though - I work in a remote north location, surrounded at the moment by nothing but snow and fence (no plants on the territory), but I couldn't wait to create something from imagination!

2. No moodboard this time, I just couldn't wait to get started! ))

However, I did do my sketches - in pencil first, then traced them with a brush pen

Both were scanned, vectorised, coloured. And put into 2 patterns in nice kind of pastel colours. One is a strait up pattern on a dark background and the other one (ta-da! - my favourite part) has a lower layer of pattern with 50% opacity and a light color to make it look a little more complex and not so obvious. I love layers!

Here they both are at a 100%, 70% and 35%.

I think I'm in love :-)
