Rory's First Ride

Rory's First Ride - student project

Greetings! I'm excited to write my first book, "Rory's First Ride" which is a story about Rory, an impatient child who must overcome overeagerness and later self doubt to ride a bike on her own.

Audience:

“Rory’s First Ride” will target children ages 4-8 [easy readers] learning to ride a bike or pickup a new skill.

Pitch:

Learning how to ride a bike is a white-knuckle introduction to mobile independence. It’s a rite of passage. It’s also exciting and terrifying at once.

The experience also leads itself to a few truisms which children will learn after they read this story:

  1. Patience is a virtue
  2. Practice makes perfect
  3. Learning is a journey

My favorite child’s book is Harry Allard and James Marshall’s “Miss Nelson is Missing.”

And here's the link to my first draft. Thanks!
