Roger Vivier Shoes

I'm in love with Roger Vivier shoes!

Vivier designed shoes for the House of Dior in the late 1940's to the 1950's when Dior's "New Look" was all the rage.

Vivier's label continues today and the designs are still beautiful, refined and elegant. I find them more beautiful than the shoes designed by Christian Louboutin.

Pinterest has some wonderful photos of Vivier shoes, modern and vintage.

This shoe is a pointed black suede stilleto with a shimmering cream lapel across the toe. It's lining is also gold.

I don't have any gold paint so chose yellows and pinks instead. I used 300gsm rough Archers paper and this gave the most realistic result for a suede appearance. I loved working with this paper and will start using it more often.

Happy to say that this is one of my better attempts at watercolour. I think the paper made all the difference!
