Rhubarb

This pattern came about from my tendency to draw abstract shapes from observation; in this case a rhubarb tart! I chose this as the basis for my pattern as I really liked the scattering and the edges of the almonds, which I've reinterpreted as a sort of blossom, and how they constrast with the chunky bright pink rhubarb pieces. The result is a pattern which draws inspiration from Japanese print and modern abstract print.

I forgot to add my sketches last time so here's what I traced over in illustrator and some other sketches for some future projects maybe

I ended up playing a lot with the colour. Looking at the Japanese prints I also noticed the use of gadients so I played around with this as well

In the end the 3 colour pink pattern became my most used repeated pattern, and after working out how not to get those streaky white lines I've ended up testing it out on a few things
