I had been sketching shoes recently for perspective practice, so I went with some of these for my pattern. I didn't end up getting to rotate them much in the end design, but I played around with this quite a bit.
My first attempts at coloring were disastrous, hahaha
But I kept at it and used your method of finding appealing color palettes from photographs that catch my eye.
I think I will rework the other three, but for now, I picked the red pattern because I thought it would make a pretty lining for a makeup bag.
Just for fun, I continued to play around with the grouped shoes and different color palettes.
I know these are all over the place creatively and their color palettes are a bit silly, but I really did get a lot out of your class as far as learning how to apply the color and build repeats.
I have to resize that edge around the sign, but for a bit of "homework," this was a very fun lesson. Thank you!
