Repeatable Seamless Abstract Patterns

I’ve created my Skillshare profile a while back and was exploring different classes on on-off basis, but struggled to commit to any of it fully and finish it in a form of a student project. Your thumbnail graphics amongst interesting class titles and introductions really caught my attention and, therefore, here I am…

Firstly, I would like to share some experimentations with the use of Zig-Zag effect and Stroke options.

The following examples are repeatable seamless abstract patterns made out of different types of stripes.

1. Zig-Zag pattern reminds me of examples/states of liquid when different colours are applied. Blue-white is for water; brown-black for coffee; orange-red for lava.

2. Repeatable seamless pattern consisted of basic lines pointed into different directions...

After I've finished playing around with lines I thought about creating a pattern based on an old doodle, and this is the result in various colour combinations.

1. These two colour combinations are my personal favourites...

4. I've imagined this pattern being applied on a wrapping paper...

Lastly, I've made the following pattern using different brushes.

1. I have found that this pattern looks the best on black background and without circles being scaled differently after trying out these options as well...

2. This is how the pattern looks like in CMYK and RGB colour palette...

4. Personally, I find the application of this pattern best fitted to textile...

You know what they say… Only one spark is enough to burn down the whole forest, so I assume this class was that spark into unleashing my creative learning process through this wonderful platform and future projects that it will result in. Thank you Evgeniya for the effort put into this class, it has been such an amazing starting point...
